We work frequently with insurance companies, real estate companies, property management companies, and condo associations. This requires us to be fully insured.
Our company is built on honesty so we back our products and services 100%. Should anything occur we would like the opportunity to make it more than right by you. We are human and, as such, we do make mistakes no matter our expertise level. Just like everyone else we can have off days. If we do make a mistake we request that you immediately contact us to give us the chance to make it right and honor our warranty as well as our satisfaction guarantee.
During busy spells, it might take a bit to get someone out to you but rest assured we will be working on it. There can also be a delay when the issue concerns one of our manufacturers. We deal with only reputable manufacturers and suppliers so the products are covered for defects but can sometimes take a while to replace, especially when the item was a special order item to begin with. If a situation involves a safety concern that issue will be given priority over any other issues currently being worked on.
Should you dislike our resolution or should there be a safety issue, due to a job site accident, our insurance information is as follows.........

Just remember, job site safety is everybody's responsibility. While we are working at your home keep pets, yourself, children, and vehicles away from the work area. We do our best to control falling debris but tools, bricks, and other debris can get knocked off accidentally. Items knocked from the roof can bounce a surprisingly long distance so please keep as far back from the work area as possible. Remember, it is extremely hard for our guys to hear you when you are below them so be aware of this at all times. Also, be aware that it is sometimes hard to see you when you are below the techs.
Even with all the proper precautions in place accidents can still occur. Should an accident occur call 911 immediately.

Full payment is required at the completion of the job. If a balance remains 30 days after the job is complete and prior arrangements haven’t been made to pay that balance a fee equal to 1% of the balance will be accessed each day until the payment is satisfied. Should the payment or arrangements to make the payment not occur within 30 days of the first day of interest being accessed on the bill then we reserve the right to place a lien on the property that had the work completed on it. The customer is responsible for any and all costs pertaining to collections of said debt including debt collector services, bank fees, administrative fees, and/or lawyer fees. We also reserve the right to disclose this theft of services to the Maine State Police.
Disclosure
All estimates don’t include hidden damages found during the work process. Therefore all estimates are not solid estimates and cannot ever be considered solid estimates. Hidden damages can cause the original agreed-upon estimate to go up by a little or a lot or down by a little or a lot. We are not responsible for hidden damages caused by a previous chimney company, a previous builder, a previous manufacturer, a house’s age, or work done by the homeowner.
We are also not responsible for any and all code changes that happen after your work is completed as the codes are forever evolving and changing in our industry. Codes also vary from state to state and town to town. We follow the NFPA codes but that doesn't necessarily mean that your town or state does too!!
Estimates can also be affected by a homeowner asking for additional work or materials to be added to the final job. If you add extra work or material costs to the job you are fully responsible for the additional expenses involved in that decision. These expenses follow the same payment rules as your original contracted expenses. These additions will also alter the original estimated time of completion so be fully aware of this. Added services mean we need to squeeze your expanded job in between other previously scheduled customer work.
Any work that has been done by subcontractors is fully covered by said subcontractors. If a subcontractor performs substandard work please notify us immediately so we are aware of the situation. We want any subcontractors we use to follow the same high standards we follow. If they are not doing so then we will cut ties with them if this appears to be an ongoing situation.
Warranty Information
All work done by our company is warranted against manufacturer and labor defects caused by us or our suppliers. This warranty doesn't apply to subcontracted work as subcontracted work is covered by the subcontractor's own company! Should a manufacturer defect occur that isn’t covered by a supplied warranty card, we will process a claim with the manufacturer on your behalf and will reinstall the replacement product when the manufacturer ships it to us. We are not responsible for manufacturer delays on replacement products.
Should a labor defect occur that is not caused by a subcontractor we will get you on the schedule as soon as we can and fix the issue for you without any additional cost to you for labor charges. You will however be responsible for any and all additional supplies needed, over and above the original supplies.
The labor warranty is extended for 1 year after work is completed. You must notify us immediately if there is a problem so we can respond and fix the issue. Should you neglect to inform us and instead contact another company to assist you the warranty on our labor becomes null and void so please always call us first!! We are very strict about this rule as, if we don't know we made a mistake how are we supposed to learn from our mistakes and become a better company overall? Your input is very very valuable to us so please call us immediately with any issues! We want to work with you to get a resolution!
The majority of our liners, caps, & Vacustacks come with warranties. Almost all the products have lifetime warranties. The only ones that don’t have lifetime warranties are the Aluminum Liners which have a 15-year warranty. As long as you continue getting yearly inspections on your chimney or “chimneys” and get sweeps as needed the warranty will remain active for the amount of time listed on the product warranty card. The warranty states neither the company that installed the product nor the suppliers are responsible for the cost of removing and reinstalling the products. However, the supplier will cover the full price of shipping from your address to the supplier’s location where they will inspect the product for damages and make sure it in fact falls under the warranty.
As a reminder, to keep the warranty active make sure you remember your yearly inspections.
Responsibilities
We don’t accept responsibility for or warranty any acts of God or any damages caused by misuse of the final product.
We also don’t warranty any alterations made by the homeowner or another chimney company or contractor. Any alterations to our work not done by us voids our warranty. There is no exception to this rule as any alterations to our work not made by us we are unable to verify as safe or to code! Any additional material components not in the original estimate when warranty work is performed are to be covered by the homeowner.
Safety Guidelines
Safety is of our utmost concern so please stay away from the work area at all times. If you must be near the work area make sure that the techs know you are below them. Never walk below the work area without first making sure they know of your presence. Please keep children and animals inside when we are working on your roof to avoid curiosity causing an accident. If your job is a multi-day job please don’t attempt to work on the existing work yourself while we are not present on-site. Our insurance only covers our company and doesn't cover people not working or subcontracting for us! Attempting to work on an ongoing job yourself is not only unsafe but it will void your warranty.
If any tech or subcontractors are injured on your property as a result of their negligence or as a result of unavoidable circumstances our insurance will cover that. All we need you to do in the event of an emergency is to call 911 immediately and, if able and needed, administer CPR or any other preventive medical care. Under no circumstances should you move the injured person as this can cause further injuries! If a person is impaled with an object don't remove the object as this could cause a deadly amount of bood loss. If you are not trained in medical simply put pressure on any bleeding and keep the person conscious at all times while you wait for 911 to arrive.
If unsafe conditions are present on your property, such as an unseen open well, unseen open basement hatch, unsafe and broken stairs, unsafe and weak floors, etc. then your homeowner’s insurance is responsible for injuries resulting from these unsafe conditions so make sure you tell our techs about anything that could lead to their injury on your job site. If there is an unsafe condition present that you cannot fix before we arrive please acquire caution tape at the hardware store and put it around the unsafe area so our techs don't forget that it is there while they are working! Thank you!!

Canceling A Job
If a job has a downpayment for materials and the homeowner decides not to proceed with the job, the materials are the property of the homeowner and will be delivered to their home. The customer then will be reimbursed any leftover monies over and above the value of the materials within 90 days of cancelation.
Should the homeowner cancel the job and want a full refund and not their materials there will be a restocking fee of 20% for the inconvenience caused to our suppliers and staff. In this scenario, we either have to send it back to our suppliers who charge the 20% restocking fee or we have to store it on our property until we can find a similar job to use it on. There is a 90-day turnaround to process refunds. Special order items, unfortunately, cannot be refunded as they are specific to the customer’s particular needs and cannot be used at another job site. Thank you for your understanding of this. Labor-only jobs with no down payment can be canceled without any consequences whatsoever as long as there is a 24-hour heads-up from the customer.
Canceling a job when the techs arrive at your property and no-shows will incur a fee of $200 to cover our expenses and loss of valuable time going out to the job site. 24 hours before your job is slated to start you will get a confirmation email. Should you need to cancel the job you can reply directly to that email to cancel and avoid incurring any fees. Under special circumstances we may void this fee so please reach out to us as soon as you can to explain the circumstances involving the missed visit.
Scheduling an estimated job, either in writing or verbally, constitutes your agreement to the above contract disclosures and payment disclosures.
Thank you for your business. We look forward to working with you in the future. Speaking of the future, the National Fire Protection Association standard 211 says, "Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances.” So don’t forget to get on the schedule for next year before the big rush. God bless.
