Environmentally Friendly
A lot of people don't realize that burning wood is extremely eco-friendly. As our good friends at the Squam Lakes Science Center have pointed out in the photo above, wood is chock full of valuable heat-producing energy. If that wood is sustainably forested and burned in an eco-certified stove you have a powerhouse heat source that has a low impact on the environment. Here at Black Cat Sweeps LLC we heat and cool our office with a combination of an eco-friendly woodstove and electric heat pumps that run off of solar power. In fact, as of 5/25/2023 our home and office began running mostly on solar power thanks to our good friends at Laplante Electric! We also grow our own foods and preserve them in a freezer running off of solar power. We use gravity-fed rain barrels upcycled from a Portland brewery to water the gardens which are especially important during times of extreme drought.
Furthermore, we specialize in upcycled design, taking other people's "junk" and turning it into design perfection for our home and yours! Lastly, we religiously recycle and use the redemption center to further reduce our carbon footprint. Any waste from job sites is recycled whenever possible as well.
